Intramammary ointment (Milking)

Composition: Each 8 g syringe contains 200 mg Cephalexin (monohydrate) and 100,000 units of kanamycin (monosulfate)

Mechanism of effect: This product is a combination of Cephalexin and kanamycin with a ratio of 1.5 to 1, Cephalexin is the first generation of Cephalosporins and belongs to the class of beta-lactam antibiotics, which provides time-dependent antibacterial activity against gram-positive bacteria by inhibiting the production of bacterial cell wall peptidoglycans, Kanamycin belongs to the family of aminoglycosides, and its activity is dependent on its concentration by inhibiting the production of bacterial proteins and reducing the correct translation of ribosomes against the gram-negative pathogens and Staphylococcus aureus. The combination of Cephalexin and kanamycin has an effect on gram-positive bacteria and gram-negative bacteria.

Indication: Treatment of clinical mastitis in lactating cows is caused by bacteria susceptible to cephalexin and kanamycin, such as Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus agalactie, Streptococcus dysgalactiae, Streptococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus coagulase.
Rout of administration and dosage: The method of use is intramammary and infectious quarter should be treated twice within 24 hours. All contents of a syringe containing 200 mg Cephalexin (monohydrate) and 100,000 units of kanamycin (monosulfate) for each quarter and each treatment. Each syringe can be used only once. Before the injection, the breast milk should be completely evacuated and the heads should be completely cleaned and disinfected, and care should be taken not to infect the infusion head.

Contraindications: Do not use this medicine in high-sensitivity milk cows with kanamycin and cephalexin. Do not take medication if there is resistance to the drug
Note: Based on studies, this drug has no teratogenic effects and can also be used in pregnant cows.

Drug interactions: In the case of resistance to Cephalexin, there is a potential for cross-resistance to other Cephalosporins. In the presence of resistance to kanamycin, there is a cross-resistance between kanamycin, neomycin and paromomycin.

Withdrawal time: Milk: 5 days Meat: 10 days
